Have you ever watched a child experiencing something new for the first time? They have wonder and awe in their eyes. Curiosity takes over and they tune out everything around them. The situation or object is the only thing they see. They see it with glorious amazement, as if they are experiencing a life altering event. And they are! If only we, as adults, could view our world as children do. Can you imagine what our lives would look like? To see everything wondrous and inviting. Children have an innate quality of wonder which we all should strive to possess. They take on challenges with fearless determination. Giving up is not in their vocabulary. It’s time to reexamine our ancient view as teachers and leaders of our children, and begin to see children as our greatest teachers!
